FELTON - A search for a 39-year-old Felton man halted Tuesday evening after deputies learned that he had a history of walking away from residential care facilities and returning safely.

A sheriff's volunteer search and rescue team scoured Felton from 1-5 p.m. Tuesday for Jay Kolby Barker, said deputy April Skalland. He was reported missing Monday from his home at Rose Acres Lane, a residential care facility.

Barker will remain on the missing person's list until he is found, Authorities do not anticipate more formal searches unless new information surfaces in the case.

Barker is a dependent adult about 6 feet tall and 145 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He has a scar on his left elbow and triceps and typically wears jeans.

Barker frequents the Felton area and smokes cigarettes.

Deputies ask anyone who sees Barker to call 911. Anyone with information is asked to call 471-1121 and reference case 12-04285.
