Technical Team

Castle Rock Training
How do we rescue someone who has slipped or fallen down a cliff or into a ravine? Backcountry rescues can be complicated by dangerous terrain that require specific skills and training to navigate safely. The SAR team maintains a special team of rescuers that are trained to access, assist and extract people from these difficult locations.

Training for the technical rescue team is in addition to our regular team training and includes topics such as care and selection of equipment, knots and anchors, patient packaging, mechanical advantage systems, belaying, raising and lowering systems, rappelling, litter rigging and tending, and pick-offs.  A solid knowledge of system safety is paramount.

The technical team is open to all members that pass and maintain certification.
